Invasion of Privacy Essay

While fixing your teenager’s room, a book falls on the floor. You get it and see that it is her journal. As a parent, do you reserve the privilege to understand it? Would it matter on the off chance that you found the journal outside her room? Is it alright to peruse the journal in the event that you think there is issue your teenager isn't delineating for you? As a kid, did you ever go into your parent’s room (without consent) and nose about? Was that a â€Å"invasion of their privacy†? Did you discover anything you weren’t expected to? Did you gain from it? Did you let them know? You reserve each privilege to peruse your child’s journal whether it’s found in the clothing or their room. There is nothing amiss with comprehending what your youngster is thinking, the progressions that they are encountering, or maybe any disturbing issues they don’t feel they can move toward one of their folks with. See yourself as fortunate you discovered it. Attack of security? I don’t think so; it could spare their life. For whatever length of time that your kid is inhabiting home with you, indeed, you should peruse her journal sections. You are there to shield your kid from outside impacts as well as from herself. In the event that it implies experiencing their assets, at that point so be it. At the point when they move out and set up lives of their own, this is the point at which you surrender certain rights as guardians, including perusing their journals. I surmise my term isn't sneaking around; it is checking your kids. My folks screen me. There is nothing in my room that my mom doesn't approach. It is inadmissible for anybody to conceal anything in our home. What's more, she screens which individuals I spend time with. In all actuality, I didn’t welcome it for some time, yet as a portion of her â€Å"NO WAY† decisions fired winding up harming me, or others, I realized she had my wellbeing on the most fundamental level, and wasn’t attempting to undermine my life. I concur that it’s alright to experience your kid’s assets. What ought to be done in the event that you are experiencing it and you discover something improper, you locate some indirect method to bring it up to your youngster and check whether they open up about it. In no way, shape or form do you say, â€Å"Oh, I was in your room sneaking around and discovered this or that.† You need to secure your children. In some cases they will start thinking everything their companions state, not feeling that their mother or father have experienced or experienced pretty much everything they’re experiencing and have the astuteness to get them out in specific circumstances. Obviously kids don't accept that you ought to sneak around into what they need to call â€Å"their privacy†. They likewise think they know it all and can settle on savvy choices. They think it is alright to text and drive, drive under the influence and show their reproductive organs while on spring break. Children figure they ought not need to go to class or have a sleep time. Do I need to go on? I think you get the image. Main concern is, they are not paying for a telephone, web, PCs, Ipads and the power it takes to keep them running and until they do those things are not theirs. They are the property of the parent or watchman and can be taken a gander at, looked, checked at whenever they please. My point is, in the event that you’re not doing anything incorrectly, at that point there ought not be an issue with anybody taking a gander at your instant messages or messages which by the way are not private in any case. In the event that you believe you ought to have protection and you are mature enough, at that point find a new line of work, be capable, and pay for the entirety of your things yourself and you may likewise need to move out all alone up to that point, As my mother says â€Å"My house, my rules.† Legally, guardians reserve the privilege to screen their child’s correspondences just in light of the fact that they are lawfully liable for the child’s activities. Guardians are legitimately answerable for their youngsters. I am aware of past situations where guardians have been captured for violations a kid has done and they likewise can be considered monetarily capable. The trust component additionally becomes possibly the most important factor when both the adolescent and the parent realize they can confide in one another that their house is a spot liberated from destructive correspondence. To do that, the parent needs to effectively screen the media that the teenager uses and take part in restriction, regardless of how terrible the word appears. It is essentially the demonstration of a dependable society that hurtful correspondence isn't shown to kids and that youngsters do their part in regarding the laws of society. I am a young person. I figure guardians ought to have the option to screen my own life, explicitly my writings, on account of all the risky things on the planet. You begin to see on the news youngsters utilizing drugs more regularly than they have previously. Utilizing a straightforward instant message to one of your companions about medications or anything can begin peer pressure. You’re not talking face to face so it’s simpler to message it at that point really state it. I was perusing a story on CNN about a software engineer who made sense of slang utilization of words to cover so guardians won’t get it. He has a site up with the importance of the slang utilization of words. I took a gander at one and it said â€Å"tdtml†. This implies â€Å"talk filthy to me later†. Guardians ought to have the option to request the telephone to perceive what they are discussing. They ought to have the option to request it aimlessly times. My folks additionally disclosed to me that they will check my telephone at whatever point surrendering me a heads that I will simply hand it over whenever. This has helped me a ton in my life to avoid peer pressure and numerous different things too. Utilizing the site noslang.com can assist guardians with making sense of what their children are messaging. Perusing the CNN report on what they could code for words was completely astounding. Go to cnn.com and in the inquiry bar type in â€Å"Parents do you realize what these writings mean?† Parents you will be staggered at the reports and the sort of coding youngsters use in nowadays.

Apple’s Disruption and New Business Model

Question: Examine about theApples Disruption and New Business Model. Answer: Presentation Interruption and plan of action are the two most regular terms in business world now days; advancements, requests and purchasers taste and inclinations are changing often because of that the degree of rivalry has additionally expanded between business ranches. Because of globalization firms are utilized to serve numerous business sectors and the requirement for keeping up the present market patterns is likewise high. A firm should gain the information about the present market situation and as needs be they should make the fundamental changes in their plans of action for its fruitful activities. Apples client backing is one of them which have as of late been seen in their new plan of action. We will break down on this by expounding the terms of disturbance and plan of action. Likewise we will look at the new and existing plan of action of Apple Inc and feature the purposes behind supplanting the current plan of action by new plan of action. For examination of two plans of action we wi ll relate not many important writing audits for our insight and for the help of this exposition. The writing audits are Business model age by Alexander Osterwalder Yves Pigneur and Customer promotion: another period in showcasing by Glen L. Urban. In conclusion we will finish up by talking about the significance of our discoveries for future plans of action. Idea of Disruption and Business Model Disturbance implies advancement an inventive methodology which replaces the old innovation, advertise, item, administration, cost and so forth with an imaginative and viable one (Rao, Rao Sivaramakrishnan, 2010). Though A plan of action is a technique or an arrangement which an organization or an association follows for its fruitful activity; it permits an association to venture into their objective point likewise it portrays the sources from where the income can be produced. A very much made plan of action helps an organization or an association to get the specific market and to build up them as a notable brand. A plan of action can be made for a transient period or a drawn out period according to the prerequisite of the organization or relying upon the market situation (Shankar, 2012). Apples Disruption and New Business Model Mac is an assembling firm and it is a pioneer of assembling Smart telephones, Tablets, Computers and other IT items (Apple, 2016). Apple is a firm who was constantly centered around self dynamic methodologies because of that the firm confronted heaps of analysis in numerous points. Be that as it may, as of late they laid out their plan of action and they include client backing in it, a case of that is their recently opened Apple bolster twitter account. This is very prominent in light of the fact that for a firm like Apple who was loner in such web-based social networking exercises (Grecon, 2016). Including into that they take the assessment of clients before propelling and choosing an element for a specific item or administrations, they recruit barely any prepared client advocates, the fundamental motivation behind this is to keep in touch with their clients whether they are confronting any issues in regards to the convenience of their item or administration or not, in the event tha t yes; at that point taking care of those issues and giving an affirmation that the issues won't rise again and so on. (Plantes, 2013). When everything changes, plans of action are less strong now days; organizations are centered around development of their organizations and attempting to improve plans of action than their rivals. Because of very good quality rivalry in the IT based firms there is a requirement for change in plans of action (Jong Dijk, 2015). Correlation Between the two Identified Business Models In the event that we think about the two plans of action of Apple, at that point we will see there is an immense contrast between these two, both of these models works in two distinct habits. From our writing audit we have discovered how Osterwalder Pigneur has given the view for structuring a plan of action, as indicated by them Business models characterize how an association meets the remarkable needs of the client, conveys a separated arrangement of items or administrations, features required abilities, designs assets at the most significant level, and produces income and benefit. (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010). An organization ought to comprehend what business they are doing and what are the good and bad times may happen sooner rather than later. As indicated by their given view, the new plan of action of Apple is fit for their organization since they have adjusted client backing which will assist them with analyzing the clients inclination what the client need or what they are requ esting in a specific item and so on. This will assist them with identifying the future event. They can undoubtedly keep up the solidness of the firm since items will be planned according to the prerequisite given by clients likewise the hazard factor is less engaged with this contrast with past plan of action. Urban has referenced that client support must be there in all plans of action through his diary Customer backing: another time in advertising since showcase situation isn't same in all territories, however Apple is a worldwide brand and they are working together internationally. A self choice methodology in plan of action may work in one territory however it might confront issue in different markets on the planet. The economic situations are diverse in various zones. In this manner to handily snatch the market a client promotion plan of action consistently prompts succeed (Urban, 2005). Apple has recognized this and they have adjusted the new plan of action. Purposes behind Disruption of Existing Business Model by New Model Because of globalization the clients inclinations are changing, so as to get the market a client backing plan of action encourages them to break down the market well and to structure its items according to the prerequisites of the clients. Advancements are changing every now and again there is a tremendous rivalry in this field so as to contend with different brands a client support plan of action is progressively appropriate for a brand like Apple. Because of their self dynamic methodology model they confronted bunches of reactions which influences their image picture and activities, that is the reason the laid out the new plan of action. Apple is a worldwide brand and the economic situations are distinctive in various territories and a self dynamic plan of action isn't appropriate for a firm for working together in this sort of circumstances. End To stay away from stagnation interruption must be increment; associations must need to concentrate on societies and current market drifts likewise they ought to go for new advancements along these lines they can expand the client reliability in regards to the convenience of a specific item or administration. So as to catch the market particular groups should be built up who will be answerable for dissecting the present market situation. In spite of the fact that Apple was consistently search for restraining infrastructure business so as to that they generally produce items or administrations which are progressively special contrast with its rivals. In any case, nowadays has gone when an organization can without much of a stretch continue just by relying upon their product offering. A cutting edge approach must be there in all plans of action to manage the vulnerability of things to come and to rival different brands. References McKinsey Company. (2015, July 01). Blog Archive New York Times Hot Ticket in B-School

Blog Archive New York Times Hot Ticket in B-School Akiba  Smith-Francis, Senior Consultant   Last week, the New York Times posted an article we were very happy to see, “Hot Ticket in B-School: Bringing Life Values to Corporate Ethics.” It’s not what you might think. This is not about the lessons to be learned from the unethical behavior that brought down companies like Enron and WorldCom. In some ways, business schools addressing corporate social responsibility is “so 2003”. This article, in contrast, is “so 2008”. It highlights the increased attention business schools are paying to the desire of students and alumni to integrate work and life. Each year business schools churn out graduates who sign up to work 12+ hour days and allow work to creep into their weekends and vacations. Lucky for you, business schools have recognized that professionals want to live their lives as “whole people” who can spend time with their families and contribute to society while they work. This trend is important for business school applicants to be aware of for a couple of reasons. First, we hope it is encouraging to know that MBA programs are taking a more holistic approach to business education. Second, we hope that it is reassuring to know that business schools are interested in getting to know you as a “whole person.” You do not need to, and in fact shouldn’t, keep your values and interests outside of work, from the Admission Committee. We are often asked questions like, “what kind of student is X School looking for?” In general, schools are looking for smart, accomplished leaders with a perspective. Other than those broad qualities, there is no recipe for what an ideal candidate looks like. Business schools are interested in getting to know the real you. Have the confidence to be authentic and let AdComs know what’s really important to you in work and in life. Share ThisTweet Blogroll News

ESL Pronunciation Exercises - Short Vowels Consonants

The following series of pronunciation exercises combines words beginning with the same consonant sound followed by similar vowel sounds. Voiced and voiceless consonants are paired (b - voiced / p - voiceless, d - voiced / t - voiceless, etc.) to help students compare and contrast similar consonant formation. Pairing similar phonemes to improve pronunciation skills is also known as the use of minimal pairs. Minimal pairs change words by one phoneme so that the basic pronunciation pattern remains the same with one slight - minimal - difference. This allows students to really focus in on the slight difference in jaw, tongue, or lip placement needed to make the various phonemes. Repeat each line slowly, listen for the minor differences between the vowel and consonant sounds.Repeat each line three times. Each time repeat more quickly trying to keep the sounds distinct.Find a partner and listen to each other repeat the lines.Try to invent sentences using each sound at least once. Compare And Contrast Igen Vs. Millennial - 1009 Words

Igen vs. Millennial For all the 1996 babies and later, have you ever wondered what the generation before us was like? Did they have the same privileges as you, same taste in music, or what about the same food preference? If you were to compare the two generations, you would see that there are many similarities and differences from one another. I interviewed a young lady from the millennial generation to give me some insight on how their generation was compared to ours. After coming up with some questions, I came to see that both generations have a few similarities. First the importance of extended family. Spending time getting to know family isn’t as important for us igens. The closest we get to extended family is our grandmother and†¦show more content†¦For fun they didn’t participate in nothing to exotic or dangerous back then. Now a day’s groceries and clothes are so expensive and outrageously high. You could go into a clothing store and only get fiv e items and you’re paying a hundred or more for barely anything. Even Goodwill where you’re supposed to be getting deals you’re paying an arm and a leg. Brooklyn and I both realized that both of our generations are dealing with the same cost. I asked Brooklyn, how much did things cost back then and her response was, â€Å"About the same as your generation†. Considering Brooklyn is only seven years older than me not much has changed in the economy. As far as cost, we are very similar in our generation. A second difference I want to discuss in both millenials generation and ours is how kids are spoiled. 90’s generation are definitely spoiled we don’t work for anything really. Everything most of us receive is just because we asked for it. Me personally I will admit I am spoiled, but not everything I received easily. I asked my source if kids in her generation were spoiled and if so how? Her answer was, â€Å"No one was spoiled we all had to wo rk for everything we got no special treatment no nothing. We had jobs to attend everyday if not every other day†. Being spoiled didn’t start until our generation. We invented it. Lastly, to compare

The Acjachemen lived in permanent, well-defined villages and camps that were seasonal. Village residents ranged from between 35 to 300 residents, which consisted of a single lineage in the smaller villages, and of a main clan joined with other families in the larger settlements. The Progression of Music Essay Example For Students

The Progression of Music Essay The simplest way of listening to music is to listen for the sheer pleasure. That is the sensuous plane. It is the plane on which we hear music without thinking, without considering it in any way. (Copland, 22). Sometimes, people say music defines who you are and your type of lifestyle. Well for me music does shape who I am and the type of things I like and dislike. In my opinion this happens almost to everyone, I read blogs, talk to people, and we all have something in common. Music is meaningful no matter what type you listen to and theres always going to be something you dont like and someone who likes it; thats the beauty of it. Music even defines what type of people you associate yourself with and are friends with. Thats how powerful music is. Honestly, I cant pick a music that defines me. When I’m happy, I would like to listen on modern pop, but when I’m not happy. I would turn on Pandora app, and listen to classical. Recently, I took a walk around the floor on which I live and asked anyone who I found for their definition of hip-hop. I wasnt able to ask everyone, but I really didnt need to either. From the 15 or so people I asked, I got a similar answer, and each was that which I expected to hear. We will write a custom essay on The Progression of Music specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Some of my friends thought that hip-hop was rap music, others said it was both rap and RB, and only one person had a good idea of what it actually is. Hip-hop is a culture, and there is a common misconception that hip-hop refers solely to a genre of music. â€Å"Music has four essential elements: rhythm, melody, harmony, and tone color. These four ingredients are the composer’s materials† (Copeland, 29). Likes other music, the most widely accepted definition of hip hop music is spoken words with a rhythm of bass, drums, and keyboard sounds. The words are spoken over the music and the accents and emphasis on words is important. Also, hip hop artists would use beats, rhythms, background music, and sometimes exact lyrics from previously recorded songs and incorporate them into their recordings. They often used a machine, known as a sampler, to replicate the existing sounds and tracks. In my opinion, hip hop artists create arts to express their feeling to their audiences. Jazz is the second kind of music that makes me want to do one of two things. â€Å"As one commentator has pointed out, if the idea of rhythm is connected in our imagination with physical motion, the idea of melody is associated with mental emotion† (Copeland, 36). Depending on the mood of the jazz, sometimes I feel like relaxing and just listening to the music and letting it run through me. Other times I feel like getting up and dancing as if I have not a care in the world. The jazz have a variety used by the musicians in dynamic, rhythm, tempo, and many other aspects of music. Jazz instruments included an electric guitar, a percussion set, and an organ. The three sounds were creatively combined to make for a wonderful concert. The first view of the music I recognized was the volume. It ranged from forte during the climactic moments to mezzo piano during the calmer parts, but mostly remained in this range throughout the concert. There were also several instances of crescendo and decrescendo, which served to build up tension or slow the piece down, respectively. The next element I discovered was the pitch of the music. Relatively speaking, I would estimate that the majority of the pieces were on the high side of the pitch, and therefore frequency, scale. The range of pitches was moderate, but as stated previously, mostly higher notes were used. Traditional Chinese music often tells about new life, good times, and beautiful hometown and so on. People play it to show their love for country, life, nature. If you listen to the main theme for the movie â€Å"The Joy Luck Club† again. You will have a mixture emotions of the flute and violin melody. For me, it’s the beauty of traditional Chinese music that creates a huge impact to me. Helpful Examples of Intrapersonal Intelligence

Helpful Examples of Intrapersonal Intelligence Intrapersonal intelligence is one example of developmental psychologist Howard Gardners nine multiple intelligences. It explores how skillful people are at understanding themselves. Individuals who excel in this intelligence typically are introspective and can use this knowledge to solve personal problems. Psychologists, writers, philosophers, and poets are among those that Gardner views as having high intrapersonal intelligence. Howard Gardners Inspiration Howard Gardner is a professor of cognition and education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He uses the late English writer Virginia Woolf as an example of a person with a  high level of intrapersonal intelligence. He has noted how in her essay, A Sketch of the Past, Woolf discusses  the cotton wool of existence, or the various mundane events of life. She contrasts this cotton wool with three specific poignant childhood memories. The key point is not simply that Woolf is talking about her childhood; its that she is able to look inward, examine her innermost feelings, and articulate them. Many people struggle to identify their deepest feelings, let alone discuss them in a way that others can understand. Intrapersonal Intelligence Dates Back to Antiquity The Greek philosopher Aristotle, born 384 BC, was an example. He is widely credited as the first scholar to study logic. Along with Plato and Socrates, Aristotle was one of the founders of Western philosophy. His dedication to the study of reason required him to examine his own internal motivations, giving him great intrapersonal intelligence. Aristotles work would go on to make an impact on the 19th-century German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. He was an existentialist who exemplified Gardners theory on existential intelligence. However, Nietzche also wrote about the forms of spiritual metamorphoses necessary to lead a meaningful life. His work would influence the novelist Franz Kafka, who wrote The Metamorphosis. This 1915 story is about  traveling salesman Gregor Samsa, who awakens to find himself transformed into an insect. But the story is really about Samsas deep, internal introspection. Another 19th-century thinker gifted with self-awareness is Walt Whitman, poet  and author of Leaves of Grass. Whitman and other writers, including Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Henry David Thoreau, were transcendentalists. Transcendentalism was a social and philosophical movement that surfaced during the 1800s. It emphasized the importance of the individual and was influenced by Plato. Intrapersonal Intelligence: The 1900s Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle are celebrated as some of the greatest minds ever. But during the 20th century, that honor went to theoretical physicist Albert Einstein. One of historys greatest scientists, Einstein liked to spend time thinking during long walks. On these strolls, he thought deeply and formulated his mathematical theories about the cosmos and the way the universe works. His deep thinking sharpened his intrapersonal intelligence. Like Einstein, people with high intrapersonal intelligence are self-motivated, introverted, spend lots of time alone, and work independently. They also tend to enjoy writing in journals, which Anne Frank did during tragic circumstances. Before her 1945 death at age 15 during the Holocaust, she spent much of World War II hidden in an attic with her family. While in hiding, Anne wrote a diary detailing her hopes, desires, and fears in such a moving way that the journal remains one of the worlds most widely known books.   How to Enhance Intrapersonal Intelligence While some people seem to have an innate knack for intrapersonal intelligence, this skill can also be taught. Teachers can help students enhance and strengthen their intrapersonal intelligence by having them journal regularly and write reflections on the topics covered in class. They can also assign students independent projects and incorporate graphics like mind maps to help them organize their thoughts. Finally, just having students imagine themselves as an individual from a different time period can help them focus inward. Teachers and caretakers should take advantage of any opportunity available to inspire students to reflect on their feelings, what theyve learned, or how they might act in different contexts. All of these practices will help them to increase their intrapersonal intelligence. Sources Kafka, Franz. The Metamorphosis. Paperback, CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, November 6, 2018. Ways in Which Ingvar Kamprad is a Manager Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Ways in Which Ingvar Kamprad is a Manager - Essay Example The paper "Ways in Which Ingvar Kamprad is a Manager" analyzes what skills that an individual needs to develop or refine in order to become a leader like Ingvar Kampard, founder of the IKEA business. This paper describes what makes him a great manager and leader, and the nature of followership that Kamprad seems to have encouraged at Ikea. Ingvar Kamprad management abilities are evident in his ability to grow IKEA from small catalog business to a multinational company. It is noteworthy that Kamprad began his business by riding his bicycle throughout the neighborhood, selling matches, pens, and Christmas cards to local residents after which it expanded gradually into a bigger company. Effective use of Resources: Kamprad is not wasteful and he has developed various policies that ensure that limited resources are effectively put into use. Kamprad views wastefulness of resources as an immortal sin in IKEA. This claim can be justified by the fact that he avoids wearing suits, takes the su bway to work, frequents cheap restaurants, flies economy class and drives a ten-year-old Volvo. Effective application of resources in IKEA is also evident when managers are made to share hotel rooms when they travel in addition to using employees as catalog models. Maintaining profitability: Kamprad has developed a hard-core drive for profits and market share that bows to no competitor, anywhere, anytime. The company has been operating profitably in successive financial years stretched over a long period.

Analysis of ethical dilemma that has been addressed by a professional Essay

Analysis of ethical dilemma that has been addressed by a professional journalist - Essay Example Why? c. What was the effect of the decision on the individuals involved and on the community in general? What would have been the effect of a different choice in addressing this ethical decision? d. Are there any relevant laws that influenced the journalist’s decision? If so, what does the law state, and how did it affect the decision? Are there any legal implications to the decision? Ethical Dilemma Addressed by a Professional Journalist Chosen Report The report chosen to be analyzed for this paper is entitled â€Å"The boy with a broker heart: special problems with juveniles are newsmakers† written by Richard Paxson (2011). Case facts revealed the story of a 14 year old boy, Jody Collins, who accidentally caused the death of a schoolmate when punched at the back. Apparently, the schoolmate, named Justin Charlie, was reported to have had a â€Å"plastic valve sewn into his heart a month before to fix a birth defect. When Jody hit Charlie, the blow ripped out stitches holding the valve in the aorta, according to the autopsy report. Charlie’s heart stopped beating† (Paxson, 2011, par. 3). Reporter Nick Lamberto investigated the facts behind the incident by pursuing Jody at his home and interviewing him without seeking prior consent from an adult. Subsequent news reports have identified Jody when he was charged with involuntary manslaughter and assault. Adding insult to injury, Jody, who was previously identified as a victim to a sexual abuse and testified in court during the uncle’s (perpetuator’s) trial, was concurrently reported and sensationalized. a. What is the ethical issue or dilemma? The ethical issue presented in the article encompassed violations of privacy, giving informed consent, competencies of children, environmental and social context, among others. Privacy issues have been clearly defined by the reporter’s lawyers, especially in cases involving juveniles who have allegedly committed some criminal offense but has not been charged as of the date of scheduled report. In addition, there were policies against naming sexual abuse victims to protect the identity and absolve them from social stigma. The ethical issue of getting consent from adults, not from the children, was likewise violated by the reported. The subject of seeking consent proves to be controversial in terms of who the journalists should seek consent from in addition to the children themselves, the subject of competence is more debatable due to the age by which competence in children is agreed on. In this case, despite the apparent intent of Jody to seek the presence and consent from his stepfather, the reported disregarded the ethical obligation to seek consent from the adult and proceeded on interviewing Jody alone. Competence was clearly depicted by Alderson (1995) as having 3 characteristics: understanding, wisdom, and freedom. At the age of 14, Jody is still considered a juvenile and as such, competence is stil l compromised. Ethical issues of the environment and society were eminent through the pressures and actions manifested by neighbors, to wit: â€Å"eggs already had been tossed at his home and at a van he was riding in† (Paxson, 2011, par. 17). Also comments from Jody’s neighbors have supposedly attested to the boy’s violent and aggressive behavior; seemingly rationalizing and justifying the reporter’s intention to publish his identity. What choices did the journalist have when reporting on the issue, and why did he or she decide the way he or she did?

Evil of Fulfillment in Toni Morrisons The Bluest Eye :: Toni Morrison The Bluest Eye

Evil of Fulfillment The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison, tells the sordid story of Pecola, a young colored girl, as she struggles to attain beauty, desperately praying for blue eyes. Depicting the fallacies in the storybook family, Morrison weaves the histories of the many colored town folk into the true definition of a family. Through intense metaphor and emotion, the ugliness of racial tension overcomes the search for beauty and in turn the search for love. Pecola, a twelve year old from a broken home, is first introduced when she is sent to live with Claudia (the narrator) and her family. Her father, Cholly Breedlove, a drunk, has burnt down the family's home and is now in jail. Here we see Pecola's want for beauty and her obsession with Shirley Temple and blonde haired, blue-eyed baby dolls as a common desire of young black females. This want for beauty is really a yearning for love, the love and adoration they see attributed to the living "dolls." [I wanted] to discover what eluded me: the secret of the magic they weaved on others. What made people look at them and say "Awwwww," but not for me? The eye slide of black women as they passed them on the street, and the possessive gentleness of their touch as they handled them (15). The children, so used to being beaten or whipped, have memories only of this treatment. They have never felt the warmth or love that they believe the white children receive. This pain turns them to believe that it is because of their color, their dark skin, dark eyes, and "woolly" hair, that they are not seen as being beautiful, and from these thoughts they begin to hate the beauty of the white children. Living in fear of her parents, Pecola becomes introverted and learns as many of the other children to deal with the pain. "[Mama's song] left me with the conviction that pain was not only endurable, it was sweet" (18). An undertone of sexual fantasies and discovery is present throughout the novel, as many of the characters have been products of loveless relationships. The men especially seek passion in the young girls, leading eventually to the confrontation between Pecola and Cholly, during which he rapes and impregnates her still developing body. It is after this immoral act that Pecola seeks Soaphead Church for the answer to her prayers.

Health Information Essay

Not only is that important it also needs to be accurate and reliable medical information. All of the above information is not only very important it also impacts the HIPAA privacy rule. The Office for Civil Rights is responsible with its enforcement of the HIPPA Privacy Rule. Not only does it need to be enforced it needs to be constantly upheld at all times. This is necessary to protect both the patient and the medical professionals from unauthorized use of their health records and to allow medical providers access to secure, safe, accurate, and reliable medical information. The demand for information has risen from not only third party payers but in fact has risen from governmental entities. Patients now have to consent in order to accept health care treatment. As a result from the demand for patient information has brought forth a huge development between the law and medicine. There’s also the term informed consent. This is used in law to indicate that the consent a patient gives falls under certain minimum standards. Any informed consent can be said to have been given based upon a clear appreciation and understanding of the facts, implications, and future consequences of an action. Any patient who is concerned must have adequate reasoning faculties and must be in possession of all relevant facts at the time the consent was given. Both of these are needed in order to give an informed consent. To understand the responsibilities that confidentiality and informed consent place on health-care providers, The United States Congress created the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in 1996. This act provides protection of health care coverage for workers, and also protects the privacy and security of medical information. The HIPAA laws allow authorized medical professionals or healthcare organizations to have access to your private medical records. Anything a doctor, nurse or other health professional has written or discussed about your personal medical treatment is confidential. Medical data that is being held by your health insurance company is also kept confidential and also any billing information which is submitted by patients or a medical facility or your health insurance company. HIPAA restricts who can and can’t request access to patient medical information. It is very important that your medical provider have access to all of your health history. There are entities that can access your medical information without your written consent such as: employers, workers compensation are all exempt. School districts, state agencies, and law enforcement agencies or institutions are exempt from HIPAA laws and are not required to follow the privacy and security rules. It is very important that you fully understand your HIPAA rights before anyone consents to release any medical information to organizations that are not required to follow the privacy and security rules HIPPA has put in place to protect confidential information. ROI policies and processes need to be adaptive. The process should be changed to meet new regulatory requirements and technology. Changes to the HIPAA rules regarding the accounting of health information disclosures expected this year have the potential to dramatically expand HIM and ROI responsibilities and pose operable disputes. Health information exchanges are pushing the frequency and scope of how patient information gets transferred. All HIM professionals must continue to remain aware and on top of all changes to ensure HIPAA compliance and change processes accordingly. The HIPAA privacy rule has received both positive and negative effects on the release of patient information by healthcare facilities. The intention of HIPAA was to protect patient privacy and to promote security and confidentiality of all patient information; it has had some unintended consequences for facilities. Some of these unintended effects, discovered about some issues directly related to the release of patient information which has had an impact with the implementation of HIPAA. The biggest issues that were found were. Increases in the public’s misunderstanding about release of patient information, lack of an umbrella policy, regulation defining infractions, enforcement that allows individual institutions to make their own version, and challenges to health information management professionals in controlling safeguards related to release of information given the transition to electronic health records and the increased involvement of information technology. The findings from this research suggest there is a need for additional clarification of the regulations that are governing HIPAA, and its standardized instructions and extensive training of its healthcare workers. I have learned so much about how the release of information impacts the HIPPA Privacy Rule. I do believe the most impact comes from the public because most people don’t understand new health care practices such as: record keeping, obtaining verbal or written consent.
